South Philly baseball coach waives preliminary hearing

Ss. John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School coach Louis Spadaccini remains in custody after waiving his preliminary hearing today.

Spadaccini was charged last month with corrupting the morals of a minor, simple assault, furnishing alcohol to a minor and rape, based on accounts of two baseball players from the South Philadelphia Catholic High School. The coach met all the required criminal background clearances and child abuse checks to work at the school.

The Daily News reports he’ll remain in custody in $2 million bail.
