South Philadelphia fire leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

    One person is dead and another was injured early this morning after a fire ripped through a home in South Philadelphia.

    WPVI-TV reports the fire started just before 2:00 a.m. on the 2200 block of South Croskey Street.

    When firefighters put out the fire, they discovered the body of a 55-year-old woman.

    WPVI-TV says a man, who had to jump out of a second story window, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

    The fire marshal is now investigating the fire.
