Somerton couple charged for faking Montco residency to switch school districts
A Somerton couple has been charged with theft of services and conspiracy to commit theft of services for allegedly lying about their residency to send their child to school in Montgomery County’s Lower Moreland School District.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s office has charged the pair for costing the district more than $10,000 after a surveillance detail determined the child was not living at a grandparent’s address in the county, but appeared to live on Philmont Terrace in Somerton.
The family has a hearing next week in Willow Grove.
