Silver Alert issued in Egg Harbor Township

    The New Jersey State Police has issued a Silver Alert for a disoriented elderly man missing from Egg Harbor Township in Atlantic County. 

    [UPDATE: Authorities cancelled the Silver Alert around 1:30 p.m. today. No additional details were immediately available.] 

    The 78-year-old man, who authorities did not identify, suffers from dementia and is described as 5-feet, 8-inches and 240 pounds, police said. A photograph was not immediately available.

    The man was last seen on Old Zion Road in the township wearing a brown suede jacket, navy blue pants, and a blue Disney cap, police said.

    He is operating a 2002 gray Chevy Trailblazer with New Jersey license plate “LSU98W,” with the Hamilton Mall in Hamilton Township in Atlantic County as a possible destination, police said.

    Anyone who sees the missing man is asked to call 911.
