Sign of the times: Avalon opens first electric car charging station

You can go the Jersey Shore all sorts of ways and now, in Avalaon at least, you can take your electric car.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, the shore borough has opened its first municipal charging station for electric cars.

According to the report, as many as five cars had taken advantage of the new addition by the end of Friday, paying $3.75 for a typical two-hour charging.

Borough spokesman Scott Wahl told the Press of Atlantic City officials felt electric cars were coming and Avalaon wanted to be “ahead of the curve.”
