SEPTA, School District hashing out transpass agreement

“SEPTA and the School District of Philadelphia have established a basic framework to continue providing Transpasses for the schoolchildren of Philadelphia for the upcoming school year,” reads a joint statement from the transit authority and the District.

The two hope to settle on an agreement in the coming weeks, and in the meantime are working on a one-year plan to maintain transpass access for about 60,000 students.

SEPTA has offered to delay payment from the District until September 2012 to help with budget concerns.
