SEPTA’s Norristown line still experiencing delays
Downed wires are still causing havoc for the morning commute in Philly today.
SEPTA says service on its Norristown regional rail line is running under a modified schedule Friday while repairs continue on downed overhead wires.
The wires caused a halt to service on that line and two others were also halted by a power problem during Thursday’s rush hour. Service was eventually restored.
SEPTA officials say aging infrastructure is part of the problem.
Chief engineer Jeffrey Knueppel tells The Philadelphia Inquirer the wires on the Norristown line were installed in 1933.
