Senator’s health series takes on diabetes today

A month-long series on health kicks off today at the Art Museum with a diabetes walk.

Sen. Anthony Hardy Williams is beginning his October Health Awareness Month two days early with the event to raise awareness about the disease. The “Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes” fundraising 5K walk begins on the Parkway, and registration is already underway.

Williams and his “Tony’s Tapestry” walking team will participate in the first event of the series, which will feature various free health events on Thursdays and Saturdays throughout October.
