Season of lights

Have you noticed new lights lining East Market Street from City Hall to 6th?  That would be the work of Center City District, which has strung 180 thousand new lights in trees along the commercial corridor in advance of Thursday’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Center City District officials say the money for the lights came from donations from Market Street property owners along with revenue from transit shelters along the street, which are licensed to CCD.  The lights will stay up “into 2011,” to light our shortened winter days.
