Saturday is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day in three South Jersey towns

Three Cumberland County, N.J., municipalities have declared Saturday “National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.”

Bridgeton Mayor Albert Kelly and Vineland Mayor Robert Romano signed a proclamation Tuesday, alongside FamCare, and the Office on Women’s Health, the News of Cumberland County reports. Millville will also take part in the effort.

Hence the name, Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is recognized nationally, so the three municipalities will be part of a larger movement to draw attention to the disease and reduce its stigma.
