Safety crisis

In light of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s decision to lay off nearly half the city’s police and fire employees, Camden Churches organized for people will host a faith-community event on the steps of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Camden Clergy and parishoners will stand together at the church at 10 a.m. in an effort to make a statement calling for a solution to the cutbacks that will keep the city safe. The Clergy is calling for action from state and municipal leaders to find an alternative to the extensive cuts.
