Run for the Fallen honors military personnel Saturday in New Jersey

A team of runners took to the streets Saturday from Cape May to Holmdel to honor New Jersey’s fallen service members.

The Press of Atlantic City reports the runners were part of the annual New Jersey Run for the Fallen, an event where active-duty military personnel run from Cape May Point to Holmdel in Monmouth County.

At each stop, the runners left behind American flags and sketches of soldiers and other military personnel who were killed in the line of duty.

The Press of Atlantic City reports the run began in 2008 to honor those who died in Iraq and Afghanistan.
