Royersford restaurant owner a finalist in makeover contest

Royersford’s Annamarie Chestnut is going to New York City Saturday where she’ll film a segment in which she’s made over by a reality TV host. But there could be more in store for the restaurant owner.

Chestnut is a finalist in Macy’s “Million Dollar Makeover with Clinton Kelly” contest. She and seven others are competing for a $1 million prize that includes cash, products services and experiences, the Pottstown Mercury reports.

Chestnut is the owner of Annamarie’s Place, a restaurant in the Chester County borough. That’s where she does most of her cooking, since her husband was laid off before they could renovate the kitchen in their 300-year-old farmhouse.

She’s hoping the contest, which the public can vote in on Facebook starting Monday, will allow her the freedom to tie up some loose ends and explore future possibilities. Whatever those may be, she says she plans to stay in Royersford.
