Right NEast/Wrong NEast: Action News misses the ‘east’ part of Northeast

We’ve gotten lots of reader submissions from Northeast residents who spotted this Action News flub.

Fortunately, there were no injuries in the March 12 car crash in Wissinoming. So Action News stepped in to make sure everyone had something else to talk about.

Take a look at that screenshot above. Action News’ helicopter found its way to the accident scene at Harbison and Frankford avenues, and then made sure to tell everyone the car crash took place in North Philadelphia. Uh, guys, you forgot the e-a-s-t that comes after North.

Don’t be so hasty next time. You have enough trouble getting the neighborhood names right; this should have been an easy win.

Outside media don’t care about the Northeast. We have all seen them misuse, misspell and mistake our neighborhoods and our streets, so we at NEast Philly wanted to do something about it. When they get it wrong, we set it right in a segment we like to call Right NEast/Wrong NEast.
