Reward posted for Germantown Rite Aid robbery

Rite Aid and the Citizen’s Crime Commission are offering a $5,000 reward for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the man who robbed the Rite Aid at 1315 E. Washington Lane in Germantown.

Police have released video surveillance of the robbery that took place last Saturday night, January 21, when an unknown man entered the store and displayed a black handgun. He demanded money and cigarettes from the employee, who then filled a bag with cigarettes but was unable to open the cash register.

The suspect fled east on foot down Washington Lane with the bag full of cigarette cartons.

Police describe the man as a black male in his 20s, 5-foot-9, with a medium build, dark complexion and a beard. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black leather jacket, blue jeans and brown work boots.
