Report: Rowan-Rutgers merger unlikely to meet Christie’s July 1 deadline

When a legislator compares the Rowan-Rutgers merger deadline to the chances of getting struck by lighting, you know there might be a problem.

NJ.com is reporting Gov. Chris Christie’s July 1 deadline to merger Rutgers’ Camden campus with Rowan is unlikely.
“But people do get struck by lighting though, so there’s a chance,” is how Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald, D-Camden, described it when discussing the likelihood of the merger happening by July 1.

Christie ‘s got a little more than a month left to make this happen, though opponents have been doing everything they can to stop the planned merger, even considering legal action.
