Record amount of cocaine seized at Philadelphia International Airport

In case you were wondering what 130 lbs. of cocaine looks like, see the photo above.

It’s believed to be the largest Customs and Border Protection cocaine seizure at Philadelphia International Airport, and it happened Sunday.

Worth about $4 million, the drugs were discovered three unattended duffel bags that arrived from the Dominican Republic and were sniffed out by a narcotics detector dog. No arrests have been made.

Sunday’s haul far exceeds the airport’s previous seizure record — 55 lbs. back in 2000. The largest seizure ever reported in the Area Port of Philadelphia was 6,427 lbs. of cocaine on June 21, 1996.
