Reading Terminal Market hosts Beer Summit on race relations

The third annual Beer Summit returns to Philadelphia Tuesday for a discussion on race, class and power.

Global Citizen and MLK365 will host Yale University Sociology professor and author Elijah Anderson at the Reading Terminal Market from 5 to 7 p.m. to discuss race relations in Philadelphia and around the nation.

The event began in 2009 when President Barack Obama invited Harvard University professor Henry Louis Gates and Cambridge police sergeant James Crowley to the White House for beers to discuss the arrest of Gates on his front porch.
