Rally not enough to convice archdiocese to spare two South Philly schools

A rally held last week wasn’t enough to convince the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to keep the doors open at two South Philadelphia grade schools.

The diocese says the decision to close Our Lady of Mt. Carmel at Third and Ritner and Sacred Heart of Jesus at Reed and Moyamensing is final.

Not for two fathers, who appeared this morning on air with Fox29. They say their fight is not over and their children will attend their respective schools come fall instead of forming a regional school with Epiphany of Our Lord at 11th and Jackson.
