Police now patrol Atlantic City casino parking garages
Police department leaders in Atlantic City have stated that parking garages of casinos are under the regular police patrol, starting today, as reported by Press of Atlantic City.
Districts with casinos will be patrolled by police assigned to them as a part of their normal duties, said Deputy Chiefs Ernest Jubilee and Henry White. This includes both officers on motorcycles and bikes.
The fatal Sept. 8 carjacking at the Taj Mahal Casino Resort’s parking garage has created the need for what is called vertical patrols — officers will ride up the various levels of the garages.
The patrols began at 8 a.m. and will continue on all shifts.
