A body was found in the parking lot of a New Castle shopping center early Tuesday morning, according to police.

The unidentified female, possibly in her early 20s, was discovered at Hares Corner, between a BJs store and the Farmer’s Market, off Du Pont Highway around 6 a.m., said Senior Lt. Adam P. Brams of the New Castle Police Department.

He said an employee of one of the stores in the shopping center discovered the body and called 911.

Police are reviewing video surveillance that was taken from nearby businesses, Brams said. The police department is “fairly certain” the body was dumped in the area.
