Police: Absecon man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease missing

    The Absecon Police Department requests the public’s assistance in locating an elderly city man described as “at risk.”

    John J. Schmutz, 83, was last seen at 107 Lisbon Avenue in Absecon, Atlantic County, police said in a release. Schmutz is believed to have traveled to Atlantic City in a silver 1997 Hyundai Elantra with NJ plates “V12CVT.”

    Police describe Schmutz, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, as white, 5-feet, 11-inches tall, and 130 pounds, with red hair and green eyes. 

    Anyone with information about Schmutz’s whereabouts is asked to dial 911 or contact the Absecon Police Department at (609) 641-0667.
