Planning study will focus on underground portion of Reading Viaduct
A planning project is underway for a portion of the Reading Viaduct.
Hidden City reports the Community Design Collaborative will give the Viaduct Greene advocacy group a grant for the first phase of a project to improve the underground portion of the railroad that extends from the Viaduct between 13th and 17th streets.
A 20-person community task force will assist in the process.Many in Philadelphia hope to see the defunct elevated rail line turned into a passive park with landscaping, seating and walkways.
