Plane greenhouse sculpture to be installed in Center City

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s not exactly easy to assemble a military plane in Center City.

To accompany the Claes Oldenberg “Paint Torch” sculpture, local sculptor Jordan Griska is finally installing his “Grumman Greenhouse” sculpture, made from an actual Grumman S-2E military plane, in Lenfest Plaza. It’s about a month behind schedule. The sculpture was assembled today and will be put into position Wednesday. It’ll be situated nose-first in the plaza and its fuselage will be a greenhouse.
