Phoenixville parking ordinance partially approved

At a Tuesday night meeting, Phoenixville Borough Council approved parts of a parking ordinance. Measures to collect revenue from parking lots and meters were approved, but a two-hour parking limit remains tabled.

The proposal to institute a two-hour parking regulation on Church Street between Bridge and Gay streets has met resistance from residents and some council members.

As the Mercury reports, those with borough-issued permits would not have to comply with the ordinance, But the 110 permits are available on a monthly first-come-first-serve basis.

Until a decision is made, parking regulations on Church Street will not be enforced.
