Phillies invite the public to paint the team’s Walnut Street Bridge mural

Phillies greats will overlook the Walnut Street Bridge by next summer, and there are two ways you can help.

Starting Wednesday, fans will be able to nominate the final player to be featured in the mural alongside Brad Lidge, Mike Schmidt and about 30 other players throughout team history.

If you want to take a more hands-on approach, the Please Touch Museum will host a two-hour public painting session from 10 to noon. Buy your tickets for the ahead of time (the Phillies are offering a discount), and you can spend Wednesday morning making your mark on what will be an eight-story mural on the side of a building at 24th and Walnut.
