Phillies coming to the Walnut Street Bridge in 2012

Where’s the one place you can find Lights out Lidge, Darren Daulton and Richie Ashburn?

At the base of the Walnut Street Bridge, come next summer. David McShane, the guy behind more than 75 Philadelphia murals, will unveil next year an eight-story Phillies mural on the side of the building at 24th and Walnut streets.

The mural will boast Phillies players throughout time, announcer Harry Kalas and yes, the Phanatic amid the field, bats, balls and trophies. Uwishunu has a rendering of the mural, courtesy of the Mural Arts Program.

More than 30 players will be included, like 2008 World Series savior Brad Lidge and the famed Mike Schmidt. You’ll be able to see the mural from the banks of the Schuylkill, the line of traffic on the expressway and the Walnut Street Bridge.
