Philadelphia University welcomed 730 students in its incoming Class of ’18 at a Thursday afternoon convocation ceremony which marked the start of the 2014-15 academic year.

The ceremony, which also welcomed members of the five-year architecture program’s Class of ’19, was led by university President Stephen Spinelli Jr.

The keynote speaker was David Sirkin, a Class of ’94 graduate who now serves as president of The Neckwear Group at PVH Corp.

Also honored were four “outstanding high-school educators” who received Centennial Medals.
