Philadelphia’s Christmas Tree Recycling program ends mid-January

If you’re one of those people who leaves the holiday decorations up through February, you’ve got some scrambling to do if you plan to recycle your tree.

Philadelphia’s Christmas Tree Recycling Program ends Jan. 15, and unless you plan to leave that thing on the curb and let the trash collectors take it, you’ll need to pull off the lights and ornaments and take it to a Sanitation Convenience Center in either the Southwest, Northwest or Northeast.

Your untied, un-decorated tree can be dropped off at any one of those locations Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. No, they don’t want the tacky ornament your in-laws gave you, either. You’ll have to find some other way to dispose of that.
