Philadelphia Water Department begins two-year meter upgrade process

Try as you might to avoid answering the door when your friendly utility company rep comes a-calling, the Philadelphia Water Department is upgrading its system and it means you’re in need of meter maintenance

Eyes on the Street reports the company will work with Itron over the next two years to upgrade the city to Automatic Meter Readers and batteries. They’ll start with unannounced visits, but your water bill will also give you a clue as to when to expect an Itron rep.
