Philadelphia sports legends return to ice for Winter Classic alumni game

For a brief period of time today, Philadelphia hockey fans won’t have to remember the likes of Bob Clarke, Bernie Parent and John Leclair.

The hockey legends and others are all slated to be a part of the National Hockey League’s Winter Classic Alumni Game at Citizens Bank Park.

NHL.com reports Eric Lindros is also expected to be a part of the alumni team’s roster. Lindros has had a bumpy history with Clarke, who was the Flyers general manager in the 1990’s.

Lindros told NHL.com Friday morning he hadn’t agreed to join the alumni festivities as a way to mend fences with Clarke but rather to celebrate hockey.
