Philadelphia Police investigating misconduct allegations against officer

    Philadelphia Police are investigating allegations of misconduct filed against an officer this morning.

    The department’s public affairs division released the following statement on the matter:

    “Special Victims Unit and Internal Affairs Bureau are investigating an allegation of improper conduct of an on duty police officer. All updated information pertaining to this incident will be release by Media Relations when available.”

    CBS3 reports the accusations involve a teenage girl and an officer in the 18th District.

    According to the report, the girl says an officer picked her up at 52nd and Market this morning, sexually assaulted her in the car, and then dropped her off at 63rd and Chestnut. Charges have not yet been filed, as police are still investigating, and no action has been taken yet against the accused officer.
