Philadelphia is taking part in National Food Day, superheaded by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, with an all-new event, Philadelphia Food Day, from October 15-29.

More than 50 organizations in the Philadelphia area will be participating in this event, Philly Homegrown explains. This two-week celebration will give attendees an opportunity to learn, cook, eat, volunteer, and connect with the city’s food and farming resources. Some activities to look forward to include learning how to brew beer, a taste test of fresh apples, helping to pack boxes onto food trucks, and other food oriented affairs.
