Philadelphia City Council releases budget hearing schedule and public testimony dates

Philadelphia City Council’s budget talks get underway in a couple weeks, and the hearing schedule is jam-packed through early May.

Mayor Michael has said the budget he presents March 8 will have no tax increases, which means City Council has its work cut out. Talks will start with a five-year plan before delving into specific departments.

Public hearings will be scheduled within the districts. The first only one mentioned in the schedule released today by the city will be held March 14 in the 2nd District. The public is also invited to offer comment at City Hall on April 11, May 2, May 7 and May 9.
