Pennsylvania Democrats call on Corbett to listen to residents

A month ago, Pa. Gov. Tom Corbett ushered the press out of a public meeting to support Republican Senate candidate Larry Medaglia in a special election. Even the head of the EPA has trouble reaching him.

Pennsylvania Democrats want Corbett to open up.

The party released a video today compiling media reports from around the state documenting the governor’s penchant for dodging the press.

“Tom Corbett’s deeply unpopular budget has sparked outcries from across Pennsylvania, but instead of engaging the public and explaining his decision to decimate education, increase tuition and raise property taxes, Tom Corbett is refusing to listen to Pennsylvania,” Democratic Party Chairman Jim Burn said today.

Throwing his own words back at the Republican governor, the video begins and ends with a January speech in which Corbett explains a need to restore transparency and accountability.
