Penn tops Newsweeks’ list of gay-friendly colleges

University of Pennsylvania is the most gay-friendly college in the nation for the second consecutive year, according to a list compiled by Newsweek.

The Ivy League school topped a list of 25 based on rankings by The Advocate and InsideCollege.com, as well as average standardized test scores and other measures of academic strength.

Plenty of East Coast schools made the list, including a few others from our area: Penn State is No. 7, Princeton is No. 10 and Swarthmore is No. 16.
