Penn grads’ petition: Let’s change the university’s name

Two University of Pennsylvania grads, unhappy their Ivy League school has been confused with the scandal-embattled Pennsylvania State University, want a name change.

They’ve started an online petition to change the university’s name to something more recognizable and less confusing. So far, 24 people support the effort.

But even if the 1,000-signature goal is met, how likely is it Penn will get a new name?
“The answer is simple,” university President Amy Gutman told the Daily Pennsylvanian. “Absolutely not.”

    Well that settles that.
