PECO’s numbers: 25,000 still without power

    PECO is still working to restore power to about 25,000 customers in the area. As of 4 p.m. today, 475,000 of its 500,000 customers impacted by Hurricane Irene had had power restored.

    The company says more than 4,000 employees have been working in 12- to 16-hour shifts around the clock to get everyone back up and running. Most should have power by Wednesday night, and a few will have service restored before the weekend.

    Here’s the breakdown by county of who is still without power:

    Bucks County: 9,000
    Chester County: 4,000
    Delaware County: 8,000
    Montgomery County: 3,000
    Philadelphia County: 500
    York County: 500
