600 block Carpenter Lane – a teacher at C.W. Henry School said a student threw a glass paperweight and a metal paper towel dispenser at him while his back was turned. The items did not strike the complainant. The school is investigating the incident.

March 9, 2011

7500 block Briar Rd. – two men forced their way into a woman’s house, brandished a semi-automatic handgun and stole a cell phone.

5100 block Germantown Ave. – three stainless steel barber chairs were stolen from Traditions Barber Shop. The owner said someone entered through a rear door. There was no alarm system at the time and the business was in the process of being renovated.

500 block E. Chelten Ave. – Sony digital camera, drill and a Tom-Tom GPS stolen from a 2003 Chevy Express.

5800-block Germantown Ave. – four juveniles attacked complainant just after leaving from the location. The group punched the older man in the face enough to where stitches were necessarily at the hospital.

6700 block Stenton Ave. – 30-ft Tulip Poplar tree cut down without permission. Complainant said only a stump was left behind the side yard.

7100 block N. 20th St. – 2010 Toyota Camry stolen.

5600 block Chew Ave. – Laptop and briefcase stolen from a 2009 Toyota Camry. Complainant said items were stolen from the trunk.

200 block W. Walnut Lane – Dell laptop stolen from a 2005 Toyota Camry.

Unit block W. Weaver St. – 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix stolen.

6800 block Ogontz Ave. – 2007 Suzuki motorcycle stolen. Complainant said the bike was chained and covered.

Lowber Ave. / E. Upsal St. – complainant said four men mugged him. The offenders ran off with a cell phone, an iPod and various IDs and Credit Cards.

5500 block Sprague St. – Dell laptop stolen from the property. Complainant said she noticed the laptop was missing after she returned downstairs after talking on the phone. There were no signs of a forced entry.

1300 block E. Johnson St. – 32″ TV and clothing stolen from the property. Complainant said the front door of his apartment was forced open, the door handle and knob were broken.

600 block Carpenter Lane – a teacher at Henry School said a student threw a glass paperweight and a metal paper towel dispenser at him while his back was turned. The items did not strike the complainant. The school is investigating the incident.

March 12, 2011

Thouron Ave. / E. Sharpnack St. – complainant said he was mugged by two men, one of whom was armed. Offenders ran off with an iPhone and a wallet.

Brinton St. / Musgrave – complainant said a stranger approached him front behind, stuck what felt like a gun into his back, and told him to freeze in place. The offender then rifled through the complainant’s pockets, running off with $200 and a prescription medication.

100 block W. Chelten Ave. – a Rite-Aid customer was arrested after attempting to leave the store with bath soaps and razors.

March 13, 2011

Woolston Ave. / E. Upsal St. – complainant said three men attacked him from behind and stole his cell phone. Complainant was walking home at the time.

5300 block Belfield Ave. – complainant said someone struck him in the left side of his face with the handle of a handgun. Another offender joined the first in robbing the complainant. Offenders took a cell phone and $945.

March 14, 2011

1900 block 73rd Ave. – 2010 Chevy Impala was stolen, but later recovered before a report was made. Complainant said he left the keys to the rental car on a step near the parked car while he was at the location with a group. Vehicle was heavily damaged when it was recovered.

Sprague St. / E. Woodlawn St. – 1999 Buick Century stolen. Complainant said she left her car running in front of her house and went back inside. When she returned, the car was gone.

6500 block Wyncote Ave. – complainant said he was asleep when an intruder struck him with a pistol and demanded money. When he replied he had none, the offenders left him and ransacked the house. Complainant said he’s unsure if anything was taken.

2000 block Haines St. – Sirius satellite radio and speakers stolen from a 2005 Ford Focus.

6900 block Cedar Park Ave. – CDs, change and shoes stolen from a 2007 Dodge Charger. Complainant said he left the car unlocked.

300 block W. Johnson St. – 200 DVDs, 100 Xbox games, pool table, two big-screen TVs, a Wii game system and a camera were stolen from the property. Complainant said she was a renter at the location until the building caught fire and she was instructed not to remove any of her personal belongings. When she later returned, a rear door was wide open and the listed items were gone.

300-block W. Mt. Pleasant Ave. – complainant said someone stole his handgun from his car. He said he moved the firearm from his hip to the console when he exited the vehicle to move some trash for about an hour. Complainant said the weapon was fully loaded at the time.

7700 block Crittenden St. – Magellan GPS and various medications were stolen from a Ford Explorer.

March 15, 2011

6700 block N. Woodstock St. – BMX Pacifica bike and a Pacifica mountain bike were stolen from the property. Complainant said the bikes were never chained or secured.

7700 block Crittenden St. – a woman’s purse was stolen shortly after she left a supermarket. Complainant said while walking out of the building, she picked up her bag, but left the purse in the cart. When she returned to the cart two minutes late, her purse was gone. The purse contained credit cards and $150.
