Oyster Creek will test emergency sirens Tuesday

New Jersey residents, be warned — if you live within 10 miles of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station in Tom’s River, you’re likely to hear tomorrow’s emergency siren test.

Patch reports the alarm will sound at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. so Exelon can test its 42-siren system, as it does annually. No need to evacuate when the sirens are tested, but if you’re wondering if there’s an actual emergency, check in with one of the county Emergency Alert System radio or television stations.
