Oxford Avenue closed for Fox Chase Line improvements [slideshow]

SEPTA’s Fox Chase Line improvement project closed Oxford Avenue late last week. The grade crossing improvement project in the 7800-block of Oxford Avenue resulted in detours for area residents.

Northbound traffic was detoured onto Rockwell Avenue and southbound traffic onto Hasbrook Avenue to Central Avenue.

The project involves the removal of the old grade crossing and placement of pre -cast concrete modules for the new crossing. SEPTA anticipates this phase of the project to be completed late Monday afternoon, at which time the avenue will be opened for normal traffic flow.

In addition to the grade crossing replacement, SEPTA continues with the upgrade of ties and clean up of the right of way on the Fox Chase Line.
