Local art: Philadelphia Museum of Art to debut P.POD

A new pop-up bazaar at the Philadelphia Museum of Art will give art fans the chance to see first-hand the ideas being developed in Philadelphia by the Philadelphia art community.

P.POD (Philadelphia Produces Original Design) is a marketplace of items designed and produced in Philadelphia.

According to the museum, P.POD is set to debut at the Museum Store on Friday, November 11 with an opening party hosted by creator and Philadelphian Alex Stadler.

“The Philadelphia Museum of Art is thrilled to collaborate with the P.POD pop-up, which will beautifully compliment the Museum Store’s holiday offerings,” Stuart Gerstein, Director of Wholesale and Retail Operations, said.

“We are proud to support this initiative in featuring the work of Philadelphia artists and designers.”

The museum says the community-oriented pop-up store will occupy a 300 square foot area within the Museum Store’s central retail space. Philadelphia works will be sold there, ranging in price from as low as $30 to $3,000.
