Orchestra members garner audience support as bankruptcy looms

    Members of the Philadelphia Orchestra reached out to the audience for support before last night’s performance. The board is scheduled to vote Saturday on whether to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

    The Associated Press reports the orchestra members went into the audience last night to distribute leaflets expressing opposition to a bankruptcy filing. Management is seeking a 16 percent pay cut from members in the contract negotiations.
