Two killed in separate Delaware shootings at apartment complexes

The day after Christmas was a deadly one in New Castle County. Two people are dead after separate incidents of gunfire Monday – both at northern Delaware apartment complexes.

New Castle County Police and paramedics responded to reports of gunfire Monday shortly before 4:00 p.m. at the Harbor Club Apartments, 26 Cheswold Boulevard in Ogletown.  Medics treated the victims on the way to Christiana Hospital.  One of them later died.  The other was admitted in serious condition.  Both had gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. 

Police said Michael Thomas, 20, of Philadelphia was killed.  The other victim is listed in critical condition.  A police canine team was deployed, and detectives are continuing efforts to locate a possible suspect in the shooting.

Wilmington Police, meanwhile, are investigating the shooting death of a man at the Brandywine Hills Apartments in the 4300-block of Miller Road. 

The victim was found wounded in a parked vehicle Monday night, and was pronounced dead at Christiana Hospital.  The man is believed to have been in his 40s, but his name has not been released.
