Southbound Lincoln Drive will be closed to one lane after 9 a.m.

Beginning Friday, March 2, a single lane will be closed on southbound Lincoln Drive from Wissahickon Drive to Forbidden Drive. The closure is needed for the continuing repairs to the supporting retaining wall.

The lane will be closed from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. daily beginning Friday, March 2 for next two weeks. Advanced warning signs will be placed to alert motorist that inbound traffic will merge into a single lane. During construction, the parking area along southbound Lincoln Drive is closed.

The park trail between Pabst Lane Bridge and Forbidden Drive is closed to pedestrians and bicyclists.

Work began on Tuesday, February 7 to repair approximately 500 feet of the existing stone masonry wall along southbound Lincoln Drive between the roadway and Monoshone Creek below the Pabst Lane Bridge. Last year’s record rainfall has caused the wall to be undermined by erosion and has caused significant new damage to the mortar joints.
