Judy Willner teaches 3rd grade at Joseph Pennell Elementary School in Philadelphia’s Ogontz neighborhood. Last week she sent letters to Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter expressing her displeasure with the Philadelphia School District’s current funding levels. In the letters, Willner challenged Corbett and Nutter to come teach in her classroom, writing that they “won’t even last 10 minutes.”

Willner stopped by the studio to discuss her frustrations with me on Friday.  Click the button above to listen to our extended conversation between her and WHYY education reporter Kevin McCorry.
