Department of Correction officials say the number of flu cases among inmates at a Wilmington prison has climbed to 28.

Officials said Tuesday that another 17 inmates at Howard R. Young prison are being tested for the flu.

Meanwhile, all visits and programs at the prison remain canceled until further notice.

In an effort to limit further spreading of the virus, prison officials are screening offenders and continue to educate inmates about the importance of getting a flu shot or taking prophylactic medicine.
