Ocean City considers raising beach tag prices

Ocean City Council has scheduled a public hearing for early next month to discuss its plan to raise seasonal beach tag prices. The $5 increase would be the first since 2007.

The new $25 price tag would bring a projected half-million dollars, provided day-trippers and Shore town drifters don’t decide to sun themselves elsewhere.

As the Press of Atlantic City reports, some council members already have plans to voice their opposition at the Feb. 10 hearing.

If you’re planning to spend the summer in an alcohol-free town, they least they can do is cut you a break on the beach fee.
