OARC rewards sustainability survey participants

John Ungar (left), senior director of sustainability and education for the Ogontz Avenue Revitalization Corporation (OARC), presents a certificate of appreciation to Anna Smith of East Mount Airy. Smith’s name was drawn as the winner of a green iPod nano for her participation in OARC’s Sustainability Survey which studied “green” practices in Northwest Philadelphia neighborhoods. OARC unveiled the results of the survey at a recent conference and presented recommendations for local communities to adopt to help build a more sustainable neighborhood. As part of OARC’s community outreach initiative the study was developed to inform residents about the greening of their community, provide conservation and efficiency tools and gather their input and support.
