The combination of the persistent onshore flow and the astronomical high tide associated with Sunday’s super full moon will likely result in minor tidal flooding this weekend, especially in southern areas, forecasters say.

In Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic, and southeastern Burlington counties, minor tidal flooding is likely near the times of the Saturday and Sunday evening high tide cycles, according to a National Weather Service bulletin.

Minor tidal flooding is possible during the Friday evening and Monday morning high tide cycles, the bulletin states.

A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for Cape May County, where minor inundation of low-lying areas is possible.
